Executive Committee

Led by Board President and consists of President, Past President, Vice President, and Treasurer

  • Reviews and advises on association financials
  • Reviews and refers legal issues
  • Primary advisory role with staff
  • Represents SMA within and outside of industry

Education Committee

The Education Committee is overseen by an appointed Board Member and consists of manager and vendor members.

  • Works to promote education and resources to all members that are timely, consistent, relevant, valuable, and delivered via a variety of mediums for maximum impact

Membership Committee

Overseen by Vice President and led by Chairperson

  • Solicits new stadium manager members
  • Reviews and recommends new stadium manager members to Board
  • Reviews and provides updates on potential stadium manager member list
  • Recommends new benefits and talks with members about what is offered
  • Act as stadium manager member mentors and serve as institutional memory
  • Advisory role as requested by Board
  • Assigns and coordinates mentor program volunteers

Industry Council

Led by Seminar Chair and consists of league and industry officials and their representatives

  • Offers league updates at Annual Seminar
  • Acts as league contact point for members
  • Advisory role as requested by Board

SMA Foundation Scholarship Committee

Liaison to SMA Board - College Director and consists of members in every membership category

  • Solicits applications for yearly scholarship(s)
  • Determines criteria for scholarship eligibility
  • Chooses scholarship winners

Seminar Committee

Led by Seminar Chair and Vice Chair and consists of appointed members

  • Site selection
  • Reviews member survey and meeting evaluation results to compile list of general session and breakout topics for Seminar
  • Coordinates feedback from Board to prioritize topics and find speakers
  • Communicates directly with speakers to develop topics

Women in Leadership Committee

Led by Advisory Member appointed by Board and consists of volunteer members

  • Act as mentors to new members of the organization
  • Arrange and promote Seminar session
  • Coordinate networking opportunities at Seminar
  • Offer input to Board on gender diversity initiatives

Past President's Council

Led by Immediate Past President

  • Recommends and Reviews Board of Directors and Advisors nominations
  • Recommends Board action on nominations
  • Members of committee are recommended by Board President
  • Advisory role as requested by Board
  • Nominates and elects Lifetime Achievement Award
