Membership in SMA

SMA’s membership consists of facility and event managers from the US, Canada, and other countries. Several leagues are represented within SMA, including the National Football League, Major and Minor League Baseball, College Sports, Major League Soccer, Canadian Football League, Motor Speedways and other mixed-use facilities. SMA has facility representation from roughly 80% of all NFL and MLB teams in the USA.

Many key leaders and decision makers are represented in SMA. The most common job titles amongst SMA managers include: Vice President, Senior Director or Director of Stadium Operations, Event Operations, Security, Guest Services, Facilities, Facilities Planning and/or Engineering.

SMA is the primary industry resource for facility managers and leading suppliers in the stadium industry.
The SMA membership calendar year is from July 1 - June 30.

Membership Type Descriptions

Stadium Manager Membership

Any person actively engaged in the management or administration of a stadium or a related facility.

  • The only Annual Seminar focused exclusively on stadium concerns at a leadership level

New Manager Incentives
Does your stadium already have a representative member in SMA? If so then you’re eligible to save $100 when you join! Use the website contact form and you’ll receive a special discount code when you apply for manager membership.

Never been a member of SMA before? You’ll receive your 2019 Seminar registration entirely free of cost - a savings of over $500.

Stadium manager dues are $400/year.

Corporate Membership

Persons, firms, corporations and other entities that have, as a principal function, the provision of goods or services to the stadium industry.

The most popular entry level choice for companies interested in SMA, a Corporate Membership offers one membership in SMA at great value. As long as both you and your organization have never attended the SMA Seminar before, you may also pay and register to attend the Annual Seminar a single time.

All corporate applications are subject to approval by the SMA Board of Directors.

Corporate Membership dues are $1700 a year. All new corporate members also will be required to pay a one-time initiation fee of $500.

Corporate Sponsorship

Persons, firms, corporations and other entities that have, as a principal function, the provision of goods or services to the stadium industry. Includes Annual Seminar participation.

The Corporate Sponsor membership option offers the most value to your organization. This company package includes two individual memberships in the Association and two registration passes to the Annual Seminar. Sponsors enjoy supreme recognition on all SMA materials and have the opportunity to get further involved through event sponsorships at the Seminar.

All corporate applications are subject to approval by the SMA Board of Directors.

Corporate Sponsor dues are $4200. All new Corporate Sponsors are required to pay a $500 one-time initiation fee.

Institutional Membership

Your college or university can get up to 4 Faculty Memberships and 30 Students Memberships for one price of $750 (total value of $2950)! Faculty and student members must be part of a sport management, facility management or sport administration program.

Faculty Membership

One who is employed in a college or university with a full-time job description of teaching undergraduate or graduate courses, or supervising interns, in sport management, facility management, or sport administration.

  • Faculty breakout session at the Annual Seminar

Faculty Membership is $225/year.

Student Membership

Individuals who are enrolled in a full-time curriculum of undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate studies at an accredited college or university.
