How often can do you find yourself in same room with many leading professionals in the industry? In my week at Seminar, I understood the value of working really hard at any task because you will be surprised who notices what you are doing! Furthermore, you never know what opportunities that may lead to down the road.

JuteauMy experience at the 2017 SMA Seminar was an amazing experience. Being able to meet fellow students who share my passion for sports, as well as the eagerness to learn about this developing industry was just an overwhelming experience. It was also great to meet the industry professionals who were once in our shoes. I was able to make lasting connections, and will continue to email and connect with them.

One word that would describe my experience at the SMA Conference would be inspirational. Meeting the professionals, and seeing where they came from and what they did to get there, was very inspirational to me.

Stephane Hironaka-Juteau, 2017 Student Intern

SenaThe SMA Internship program was an amazing experience for me professionally and academically. I was able to gain experience that I wouldn't be able to in the classroom such as listening to and learning from industry professionals about different sectors of the industry. This is stuff that no textbook can teach you!  The networking opportunities were unparalleled and helped me to connect with leaders that helped me get internship opportunities after graduation. The SMA staff is also awesome to work with and the entire experience was a blast!

PendletonI loved being a part of the Stadium Managers Association Seminar Internship Program. My experiences helped me grow professionally and provided me with opportunities to develop skills that I have been able to apply in my career / work since various topics, industry trends and issues specific to working in stadium operations and the stadium management industry.

In addition to continually learning throughout the week, strengthening and building upon my skillset, I also meet with so many leaders and professionals within this industry. Having the opportunity to network and build relationships through my experiences with the SMA Student Internship program have been invaluable to my growth in my professional career.

One word to describe SMA Seminar Internship Experience - would be “Beneficial”.

Karissa Pendleton, 2016 Student Intern

GroopmanThrough my experience with the SMA Seminar Student Internship Program, I was afforded the opportunity to network and build relationships with industry professionals that provided their insight, knowledge and expertise specific to their professional growth. Additionally, working on-site throughout the week provided me with valuable skills that have contributed to experiences that I have had beyond my time with SMA.

After my internship in 2015, I was the Operations and Guest Services Intern with the Cleveland Browns where I worked with Troy Brown, Brad Mohr, and Don Husted, 3 members of SMA. Over that year I learned valuable knowledge and my experiences furthered my interest in continuing my career in Stadium Operations. I now am the Operations Coordinator at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. In my current role, I am learning valuable management skills that I hope to apply to my work as I continue down my career path.

The Stadium Mangers Association Seminar is a wonderful conference that provides industry professionals with tools and resources to help build their network and career. Someday I would really like to become a member and attend the conference each year.

One word to describe SMA Seminar Internship Experience - would be "Relationships".
