Board of Directors
Each year, the Board seeks candidates to fill specific skill sets. In order to become a Board Member through the election process, it is helpful for a candidate to have been involved with the Association and/or to have prior volunteering experience. With that in mind, if you're interested in future Board service, start thinking about becoming involved now. If you are interested in serving on the SMA Board of Directors, please submit a letter of intent and a resume to the SMA office. The Nomination Committee will review all applications and, along with other relevant issues, consider the following criteria:
a) Must be a current paid member of SMA, in the category of the open position. Length of membership will be considered.
b) Past service to the organization
c) Segment of industry that is represented
d) Length of time in the industry
e) Potential insight or influence on a topic, strategy or program of the SMA
f) Willingness and ability to make significant time commitments
